Denison DREAM Camp – Session 2
August 1, 2019 @ 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
Summer 2019 will be The City of Denison’s pilot year for a summer-long, day-long youth day camp. Denison DREAM Camp is made possible through a partnership between the Denison Parks and Recreation Department, Denison Public Library, and Denison Independent School District. DREAM stands for what we hope your children will take-away from our program: Discovery, Recreation, Education, Adventure, and Memories!
Our staff recognized a community need for a quality, supplemental summer youth program. Denison DREAM Camp is designed to complement existing programs in the area.
Campers will explore new activities, learn new sports, develop friendships, and learn more about their community. Denison DREAM Camp presents a perfect opportunity for youth to jump into an adventure and create long-lasting friendships.
We have designed our program to fit the hours and needs of busy working parents. Campers can be dropped off as early as 7am and picked-up as late at 6pm. Children are given the structure and programming they crave when away from home or school, accompanied by unstructured creative time to relax with unique themed weeks that will explore Nature, Our Community, Sports, the Arts, and STEM fields. We plan on visiting fun and educational places in the region like the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, Frank Buck Zoo, Obstacle Warrior Kids, Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, and more!
Denison DREAM Camp will be open to children ages 5-12 as of January 1, 2019. We will offer 2 4-week sessions. The first session will be from June 3, 2019 to June 28, 2019. The second session will be from July 8, 2019 to August 2, 2019. Parents can register their Campers for a single session or both sessions.
